Central Park Berries walk

It was billed

as a mushroom walk

but we knew better

We did find some juneberries

but no wineberries yet

Nice day though

Prospect Park

It cooled down considerably

since the last outing

so we went for a hike. Honeysuckle was the only edible (in their book).

Soon, juneberries, mulberries and wineberries will be out.

And then we went home – Boongo in her outward position

Mushroom walk at the aqua duck

It’s what we call the aqueduct – a very long trail that starts on Broadway and continues through about 5 states.

It was maybe the last nice day (before it got really hot)

But it still was hot enough for Boongo to dip in puddles like a hippo

.

After a whole week of dark and dank we finally had a sunny day and went to Forest Park

with the mushroom club, taking along a friend of Maya

We soon broke from the barely moving crowd and were rewarded with a big oyster mushroom

It was in the 60’s today (up to 68). Victor and I went to Prospect Park

That is a frozen lake behind us.

Another nice day, just the 4 of us

went to Inwood forest  to see the leaves turning

and maybe even some mushi (found some oyster mushrooms)

In a beautiful November day (65°F or 18°C) we went in Prospect Park

The leaves were almost as red as my hair.

Boongo found company

and a good time was had by all

South Mountain trip

Yesterday was the last of the 3 beautiful days I got for my birthday.

So, in spite of the lack of rain,

we went to the old woods to see what grows there.

There were no mushrooms

but delicious wineberries

after we ate

we went by the water

and Maya and Boongo went in it

and had great fun
